Sloping sites are difficult to negotiate, especially when they are triangular in shape.

The client for this project wanted to open up their overgrown garden, make the most of the space available and have areas for entertaining and children’s play.

My solution was to create a series of low curving terraces. The use of curved lines made the garden appear wider with a focal point at the end of the garden providing a sense of depth.

The clients work in Japan provided a theme with materials and plants used to create a sense of minimalism.

“ We really love the garden, it has a great sense of Zen”
