This complex site is set in an area with strict planning limitations in a rural setting.
The site was poorly drained with a tired looking garden.
I used the existing spatial structure to define a number of linked spaces with different
functions. A sunny utility area became a kitchen garden, the sloping rear was enlarged
by removing the conservatory and creating a courtyard garden. The side garden with
open views was reshaped and planted to create a cottage garden effect whilst the
drive was re laid as gravel over a mesh system to allow for free drainage. All elements
were linked through material selection with a new path creating a sense of journey.
